The impacts of the pandemic, which has transformed so many industries, are still being felt. In the banking industry in particular, the ability to rapidly adapt to changing conditions and to conduct risk estimation significantly improves a company’s efficiency.
Having already removed boundaries in the field of digital banking, Yapı Kredi chose SAS’s IFRS 9 solution to help them develop new models as part of the process of transitioning to IFRS 9 and to measure the performance of their present models. Thanks to the innovative and flexible models used in the project, the ability to integrate reporting infrastructures with simulated environments, adaptation of reports to changing conditions within the shortest time possible, and the analysis of the impacts on a report basis were maximized.
At the end of the project we carried out with SAS; 9 independent simulation flows started to be taken over the SAS IFRS9 platform with a user-friendly interface by the business units. Handing the reins to all relevant business units
The project has allowed all detailed calculations to be monitored not only by the IT department, but also all related business units in a quick and controlled manner. In the enriched simulation environment, it was possible to test different scenarios with the desired detail and speed within the scope of IFRS 9, and to prepare reports automatically in a centralized manner. With SAS’s IFRS 9 solution offered end-to-end to expert teams to develop new models and measure the performance of present models, significant reductions in IT workloads and flexibility in timing were achieved. In addition, the project enabled the company to evaluate the process as a whole. It now has the capacity to observe the effect of the new models on the official reports and managerial reports automatically generated by the system on a report and transactional basis.
