Two-Step Opt-Out Configuration

(Email)

Features

  • Email unsubscribe links are now handled with a two-step process.
  • Prior to this update, the unsubscribe opt-out worked as a one-click step which displayed an English-only "you will be missed" page (unless a branded webpage was setup). With more organizations scanning and traversing incoming email links, the risk of a security scanning tool inadvertently and automatically clicking an unsubscribe link increases.
  • To mitigate this risk, a new default two-step opt-out method is introduced. If a recipient clicks an unsubscribe link in an email now, the two-step opt-out solution presents a confirmation page, and if the customer confirms, a goodbye page is presented. These pages have a generic look and are hosted by SAS. These are not branded for your organization. The pages are displayed in the language of the user’s web browser (if the language is supported by SAS Customer Intelligence 360).
  • If you want to present a branded two-step opt-out, that is supported as well. With this, the confirmation and goodbye pages are custom HTML that your organization creates and hosts.

Benefits

  • Recipients take a deliberate action to confirm their decision to opt out, ensuring only intentional email unsubscribe requests are collected.
  • Ensures compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Prevents automated tools from accidentally opting out users through scanning mechanisms.
  • A cancel option is presented, giving recipients an opportunity to change their minds.
  • A goodbye page confirms to the recipient that they have successfully unsubscribed.
  • The recipient's email address is masked for added privacy protection.
  • Text is localized based on the recipient’s browser language settings for a seamless user experience (see SAS Customer Intelligence 360 supported languages).
Note:
  • Your tenant is now automatically enabled with the new two-step opt-out method. For more details, refer to the Using a Two-Step Opt-Out Solution section in SAS Customer Intelligence 360: Administration Guide.
  • Existing opt-out links from emails that were previously sent will automatically use the two-step opt-out method.

Data: UDM/CDM Schema 16

(General)

Features

  • SAS Customer Intelligence 360 includes updates to the unified data model (UDM) and common data model (CDM) for schema 16.
  • Schema 16 contains enhancements to support these features:
    • CDM – support for audiences, contextual identities and time zone information for contact events.
    • UDM – support for variants used in an A/B task, contextual identities and miscellaneous updates to column lengths for longer values.

Benefits

  • With updates to the UDM and CDM, including support for audiences, contextual identities and time zone data, users can manage and analyze their SAS Customer Intelligence 360 data more efficiently.
Note:
  • For more information, see the Updates for Schema 16 in the UDM for SAS Customer Intelligence 360 community article.
  • Contextual identities is a feature planned for a later release that enables an organization to designate the context for why an individual is contacted (such as whether they belong to a specific account or household). This contextual data allows organizations to understand why individuals are contacted and can utilize the data in creating contact policies.

Admin: Self-Service Tenant Configuration

(General)

Features

  • SAS admins can now configure and modify key tenant settings directly within SAS Customer Intelligence 360. The following settings can be customized:
    • Tenant Display Name: The name that appears in the bottom-left corner of every screen.
    • Default Locale: The language used for future system-generated emails.
    • Technical Contact: The designated contact person for issues like repeated failed API calls or frequent agent reconnections. While the default is the tenant admin from onboarding, using a mailing list is recommended.
    • Business Contact: The person(s) to receive the What's New Newsletter and other customer notifications. We recommend using a mailing list, though the default is the tenant admin from onboarding.
    • Tenant Usage: Set as either Production or Non-Production. This helps SAS understand the tenant's purpose. Non-Production tenants are automatically enrolled in the release preview.
    • Time Zone: Defines the default time zone for scheduling and timestamp calculations in UDM and CDM. This value is set during initial setup and requires technical support for any future changes (changes may cause timestamp inconsistencies).

Benefits

  • Admins can now view and confirm all tenant settings before using the tenant.
  • Customize various tenant settings to better align with organizational needs, improving overall system management.
  • By designating separate technical and business contacts, admins ensure that relevant individuals or teams receive timely updates and notifications, reducing the risk of miscommunication.
Note:
  • On the first login to an existing tenant, the admin was (or will be) prompted to confirm the current settings. If Remind Me Later is selected or the confirmation is skipped, the pop-up will reappear for all admins until the settings are confirmed. After confirmation, settings can be modified anytime via General → Settings → Configure Tenant.
  • If updates to an existing tenant are needed, changes to the Time Zone and Week Begins On settings require the creation of a SAS Technical Support case.
  • On the first login to a new tenant, the admin is required to complete these settings before proceeding.
  • For more information, see Configuring Tenants in SAS Customer Intelligence 360: Administration Guide.

Control Which Plan Hierarchy Levels May Have Tasks and Activities

(Plan)

Features

  • If you are a user of the planning feature, you know your marketing campaign elements are organized under a hierarchy. Tasks and activities may be associated with each level of the hierarchy, but often you do not want to associate these with top hierarchy levels. You can now control which levels may have these associations.
  • Your Plan admin can allow or restrict users from adding tasks and activities to planning items. Enable or disable the association at each level of planning items.

Benefits

  • This feature helps prevent users from inadvertently creating tasks and activities at the incorrect level.
