Benefit

Note:
  • For additional details, please visit the SAS Customer Intelligence Learning Subscription.
  • With the Custom Task capabilities replacing and exceeding External System Tasks, External System Tasks have been deprecated. However, Lesson 2 of this training will remain available for the existing use of External System Tasks. No further revisions or additions to this lesson are planned; it will be removed in the future.

Direct: Export Content Designer Role

(Direct)

Features

  • Export templates can be easily created and managed for use in Direct Marketing tasks and Segment maps. For example, you can include an export file in your Direct Marketing task that contains selected fields from the data hub (e.g., first name, last name, address, city, state, etc.) for generating mailing labels.
  • A new Export Content Designer role provides specialized access to edit export templates in Direct Marketing tasks or Segment Maps if the templates are marked as editable. This role, along with existing roles (Super Admin, Engage Super User and Engage Direct Admin), ensures that authorized users can edit an export table from a Direct Marketing Task or Segment Map.
  • Edit the export template directly, even after the template has been selected.
  • Export template editing comes with two conditions: The template must be marked as editable, and the user must hold at least one of four designated edit roles (Export Content Designer, Super Admin, Engage Super User, Engage Direct Admin).

Benefit

  • This feature allows administrators to prevent unauthorized changes to tasks or segment maps where strict format adherence is required while still allowing necessary edits to templates when acceptable. This balance protects against system failures while accommodating flexibility for specific needs.
  • It enables easy modification of the export template as needed without disrupting ongoing tasks, allowing for more agile and responsive marketing campaign management.
  • It supports ad hoc exports in a Direct Marketing Task or in a Segment Map export node.
Note:
  • All existing Export Templates are enabled for downstream editing.
  • Please refer to the important section of the SAS Help Center: Define an Export Table section to review all conditions related to editing export templates.
  • For more information on the list of roles, please refer to the SAS Help Center: List of Roles section of the Production Documentation.
