Prefix subject with “TEST EMAIL” when testing

(Email)

Features

  • SAS Customer Intelligence 360 users requested the ability to differentiate between test emails sent via the UI (Responsive Previews) and those sent when a task executes. Now, you can add a "TEST EMAIL:" prefix to the subject line of emails sent using responsive previews and send these test emails to yourself and colleagues for review.
  • To use this feature, follow the usual process:
    • Enter or select test email addresses from the Responsive Preview Sample Data table and click Send Email Preview.
    • A dialog will appear confirming that the email being sent should include the "TEST EMAIL:" prefix in the subject line.

Benefit

  • This enhancement helps clearly identify test emails, reducing confusion and ensuring better email management.

Additional IP Anonymization Option

(Web & Mobile)

Features

  • Geolocation based on IP addresses can become PII (Personally Identifiable Information) in sparsely populated areas because city, postal code, latitude and longitude data could potentially identify a handful of individuals.
  • When combined with other basic data, such as device or browsing behavior, this information could be used to pinpoint an individual, thereby making it PII.
  • The current geo-lookup method, which involves removing the last byte of the IP address, is not sufficient. To address this, SAS has introduced a new option: "Locate a user to country only and do not store the IP address."
  • With this feature:
    • Geo data for city, postal code, latitude, longitude, etc., will remain empty in the Unified Data Model.
    • Only the country will be populated.
    • The IP address will not be stored.

Benefit

  • This feature significantly reduces the risk of identifying individuals based on their location data.
  • It helps ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
  • It reduces the risk of data breaches by storing less detailed information, simplifies data management and focuses on relevant insights.

New Android API

(Mobile Push & In-App Notifications)

Features

  • Google discontinued support for sending mobile push and in-app messages through the legacy Cloud Messaging API on June 21, 2024. SAS Customer Intelligence 360 users were required to switch to the Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) API.
  • A customer alert with detailed instructions was sent out in early June. To ensure a seamless transition, customers need to:
    • Enable the Firebase Cloud Messaging API in their own Google account.
    • Generate a private key and download the JSON file.
    • Upload the JSON file using the key under General Settings -> Mobile Applications.
  • Failure to complete these steps would have resulted in the inability to send push and in-app notifications on Android devices after June 21, 2024.

Benefit

  • This feature ensures uninterrupted ability to send push and in-app notifications on Android devices, maintaining user engagement and communication.
