AI tools help Nordea Pension Fund correct data errors

Incomplete, inconsistent and incorrect electronic forms forces Nordea Pension Fund to correct data errors manually. For the Hack in SAS Viya competition, a team from Accenture developed AI tools that can automatically detect and correct data at the source.

There are currently 300 types of electronic forms used for pension management at different banking branches. Each type of form represents a separate process. Although Nordea Pension Fund has developed a Robot Process Automation (RPA) tool to process this data, there are too many robotic failures due to incomplete, incorrect, inconsistent or otherwise corrupt electronic forms.

Looking to data science, analytics, screening and robots as ways to fix this problem, the Hack in SAS® Viya® team from Accenture explored ways to help Nordea regain the productivity promise from the RPA process.

Letting AI do the job

Accenture initially investigated the existing processes to explore ways to correct errors directly at the source using SAS® Viya AI Tools as the toolbox.

They found that by uploading the raw data onto the SAS platform and adding the correct accounts from the pension fund’s database, SAS will correct all errors based on the correct definition of truths. If the differences are too great, SAS solves these corrections using Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

As a result, SAS ensures a process that resolves faults stemming from incorrect data without the need for human intervention.
