Alyssa FarrellGlobal Manager, Energy and Sustainability Solutions
SAS Worldwide Marketing
Alyssa Farrell leads global industry marketing for SAS’ business within the energy sector, including Utilities and Oil and Gas. She concentrates on solutions that optimize our energy infrastructure by applying predictive analytics to complex data. Alyssa also contributes to the product strategy for SAS’ sustainability software portfolio. Alyssa has been a guest speaker at numerous events and webcasts emphasizing analytics for the energy industry, and speaks regularly with trade associations, analysts and the press. She currently serves on the Advisory Committee of the Research Triangle Cleantech Council and the Strategic Task Force of the Duke Center for Sustainability & Commerce. Prior to joining SAS, Alyssa was a senior consultant in the Deloitte Public Sector practice. She earned her MBA degree with a concentration in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Duke University.


David VilknerDavid Vilkner is deputy director and heads the middle office functions of MND a.s. Trade Division, where he leads compliance, risk management and trade control of the european Gas and Power trading operations. His department is responsible for pricing of structured and capacity deals in gas&power, market and credit risk management, market analysis, risk and financial performance quantification and management (incl. VaR, P&L, MV, etc.), identification and mitigation of significant financial risks (commodity, interest rates, credit, etc.), Trade Controls and hedging strategy assurance as well as mitigation of risk impact. Mr Vilkner also plays a vital role in the definition and implementation of business and marketing strategy and contributes to the financial planning of gas trades during critical periods.
With more than 12 years of experience, Mr Vilkner displays a proven track record having worked with General Electric, EY and the KKCG Investment group.


Jørn FredriksenDirector EMEA & AP COE Process and Sensor
SAS Institute
Jørn has been working for SAS since 2003. He has had various specialist and management roles with the company over the years, both within consulting and sales. He is now leading the Process and Sensor COE which has it’s focus on companies/processes where large amount of data needs to be utilized at high speed for tasks like monitoring, analytics or predictive purposes in different stages of the work flows. Typically the end results are decision support and optimization needed to manage either OPEX or CAPEX. He partcipates in advising the clients on the utilization and implementation of SAS solutions in their core processes.


Michael ProbstDirector Business Development Utilities EMEA/AP
SAS Institute
As Director of Business Development Management, Michael Probst supports the Process and Sensor CoE, which serves customers in more than 40 countries. Probst operates as domain expert for the COE reach across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions. He is responsible for developing and building relationships with customers in the utilities sector and coordinate with local sales teams to deliver solutions matching customer expectations.
With more than 13 years of experience in the sales and marketing of IT solutions, Probst carries a distinguished industry track record from working with international companies with complex business environments such as Sun Microsystems, Ramco Systems and Landis+Gyr. Probst has held specific experience in direct and indirect sales, distribution channel and alliance collaboration, program management, strategic planning, business development and utilities market intelligence specialized to Smart Metering and Smart Grid.


Olivier GoethalsEnterprise Architect & Manager BICC, Eandis
Olivier has been working for Eandis since 2009 as Enterprise Architect, closing the gap between business and ICT. In this role he has been promoting the use of analytics in the company and is a keen promoter of self-service BI and explorative analytics.
Since 2013 he is also responsible for the management of the Business Intelligence Competence Center as well as Identity and Access Management.
Prior to Eandis he has a large experience of more than 15 years as Enterprise Architect in various companies such as a Belgacom/Proximus and Tom Tom and as a EA consultant in Capgemini.


Robert HendricksonRobert Hendrickson works at SAS as Senior Business Solution Manager for Energy Trading and Risk Management. In his role, Mr. Hendrickson brings energy risk expertise and is responsible for providing technical, industry and risk expertise in the energy sector in coordination with the local and regional sales teams to cooperate closely with our external partners and collaborate with local and regional teams in identifying, assessing and proving the value of the SAS Risk Mgt. framework. He brings more than 15 years of experience in Risk and Performance Management in energy, investment banking and commodity trading companies. His experience includes complex international trading environments such as Deutsche Bank and BP Plc. as well as working with energy trading risk management systems and projects to obtain regulatory approvals.


Selim DemircanInternal Audit Manager - Enerjisa
As Internal Audit Manager in Enerjisa, Selim Demircan is responsible for process audits and compliance investigations at Enerjisa. Internal Audit department’s responsibility at Enerjisa covers whole value chain of Enerjisa including auditing activities of Generation, Trading, Retail, Distribution and Corporate Processes, thus makes it compelling for Internal Audit team to use data analytics to provide better assurance.
Selim graduated from İstanbul University department of English Business Administration in 2005, and then received his master degree from Galatasaray University department of Economics Law in 2012. Selim worked for Procter&Gamble between 2005-2008, E.ON between 2008-2010 and RWE between 2010-2014 in CFO division positions.


Stuart RavensPrincipal Analyst
Energy & Sustainability Technology
Stuart has worked at Ovum IT since May 2008, and is responsible for the utilities workstream, with a particular focus on smart grid, smart metering, and smart homes. Our utilities coverage looks at the technologies used by organizations across all aspects of the utility value chain, from generation/treatment, through transmission and distribution, and into retail. Stuart has managed a number of consultancy projects for utilities and vendors targeting the market, including advising an Asia-Pacific utility on IT vendor selection, and a European utility on its shared services strategy. Other projects include helping vendors devise their go-to-market strategies; identifying opportunities from emerging technologies; and advising communications companies on the future opportunities from smart grid. Stuart has 17 years’ experience as an analyst. He has a master’s degree from City University.


Tim FairchildTim Fairchild is the Director of the SAS Global Energy Practice. In this role he leads a team responsible for developing global product strategy and defining and delivering market-driven offerings for the Energy industry. His team works closely with global customers, alliance partners, and SAS Research & Development to ensure that SAS Energy solutions meet the needs of the market. Tim represents SAS on the Board of Directors of the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster which works to expand the Research Triangle region's potential in smart grid, advanced transportation, water technologies, renewable energy and energy efficiency by bringing together the collective power of industry, government and academia. Tim joined SAS in 2002 and his experience at SAS includes Product Management, Sales and Business Development, and Solutions Architecture. Prior to joining SAS, Tim spent over 20 years in the technology industry at IBM, Compaq, Hughes Simulation Systems, and Texas Instruments.
