About the webinar

The U.S. interest rate hikes since February 2022 have exposed deep vulnerabilities, leading to the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and other regional failures.

Accounting practices masked the true extent of the losses on fixed-income portfolios.

Join Prof. Jill Cetina and Prof. Greg Feldberg, former executives from the OCC, Federal Reserve and Moody’s, as they critique current interest rate risk management and share steps bankers and regulators must take to improve risk measurement.

You will learn:

  • Why U.S. regulators haven’t adopted international IRR standards since 2004 – and the impact on banks today.
  • The consequences of regulatory “tailoring” in 2018, which left key regional banks vulnerable.
  • How regulatory gaps and bank practices contributed to recent failures and unrealized losses.
