I’m an educator and want to see what my students will have access to in SAS Skill Builder for Students. How do I do that?
In the past, you may have joined Skill Builder yourself to see what students see. There’s no need to do that anymore. In fact, we recommend educators not activate Skill Builder. For the best user experience, we’ve added a toggle feature to the SAS Educator Portal dashboard that allows you to view Skill Builder as your students will see it without activating it. Then, use the toggle to return to the SAS Educator Portal. It’s that simple.
What happens if I join both the SAS Educator Portal and SAS Skill Builder for Students?
Users can only have one My Training view at a time. If you activate both the SAS Educator Portal and SAS Skill Builder for Students in the new learning environment, you may see conflicting information for educators and students. If this happens, elearn@sas.com can update your access so the correct view is shown.
I’m teaching a course using SAS Skill Builder for Students in the existing virtual learning environment. How does this impact my students?
- Students with active licenses have been automatically enrolled in Skill Builder in the new platform and can access it when they log in.
- Those students will continue to have access to their content and learning progress in Skill Builder in the existing virtual learning environment until Jan. 31, 2025. If they have courses in progress there, encourage them to complete their learning there and claim any earned badges before Jan. 31, 2025.
- Their current digital learning progress will not transfer to the new platform.
- Students who sign up for Skill Builder for the first time (or return after their license has expired), will go to the version on the new platform. But if instructors prefer, they can have students complete course work in Skill Builder in the existing virtual learning environment until Jan. 31, 2025. However, students must activate SAS Skill Builder for Students through the web page.
