Fellow responsibilities

Fellows will be expected to commit five to eight hours each quarter to:

  • Attend virtual meetings with SAS Academic Programs.
  • Work on the development of a syllabus that integrates SAS tools into a new or existing course in their department.
  • Refresh your analytical skills or work on the development of new skills.
  • In every job and every field – from social work to English – analytics and data are somehow going to be pulled into it. Students need to be literate with data and comfortable with data, and they need to understand what are the opportunities that are out there for them. Gregory Ramsey Associate Professor Morgan State University
  • I really like the way the program is structured. That you have a lot of resources that are available for training, for faculty as well as for students. We meet with the cohort, so we really learn from them as well. Pamela Queen Professor Morgan State University
  • For faculty, it’s important in order to stay current and keep our curriculum up-to-date – I think this program will be most helpful. It’s a great opportunity to update your skills and not only engage your students, but also teach them skills that they’ll need going forward. Joni Jackson Associate Professor Chicago State University
  • One of my fears was my skill set not being up to date. I found out through the SAS HBCU+ Fellows Program that yes, I can catch up because there are so many resources out there, and the mentors that you have. I am able to catch up. Minnette Bumpus Associate Professor Bowie State University
