SAS 2023 Talent Connection Awards Competition
Terms and Conditions of Participation
OBJECTIVE: SAS Institute Inc. (“SAS” or “Sponsor”) is conducting a competition (the “Competition”) for educators at higher education institutions as well as employers, organizations, that cooperate with the higher education to participate in the SAS 2023 Talent Connection Awards Competition. The competition is anticipated to commence on September 1, 2023 and will conclude on December 1, 2023, or such other dates as solely determined by Sponsor (the “Program Period”).

Applications for each award must be submitted via:
SAS Talent Connection Educator Award: Nominate an Educator.
SAS Talent Connection Employer Award: Nominate an Employer.
Competition entries will be accepted between September 1st, 2023 and October 31st, 2023. All submissions must be received by 11:59:00 PM CET on October 31st, 2023 to be eligible for entry into the competition.
In the event of a dispute over the identity of the individual making a particular Competition submission, the submission will be deemed to have been made by the registered user of the e-mail/Internet account through which the submission was transmitted or with which the submission is associated. Sponsor (i) assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, submissions; (ii) is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of or relating to any communications equipment, telephone or cellular network, operations, or lines, computer, online systems, servers, or provider, computer equipment, hardware, software, failure of any entry information to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems, human error, or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or email server or address, and (iii) assumes no responsibility for any combination of the aforementioned events, including for any injury or damage to any participant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in, or downloading or uploading any materials relating to, the Competition.
ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION AND GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS: To participate in the Competition, you must be at least 18 years of age at time you submit your entry and you must be currently employed as a) an educator at an institute of higher education or b) an employer working in the organization that cooperate with the higher education. The awards can only be granted to an individual, not to a team, and your participation must be, in all respects, legal and lawful in the jurisdiction from which you make your submission.
This competition is open for residents in countries located in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa). Should you require clarification of which countries are eligible please email training-emea@sas.com.
Sponsor is not responsible for submissions made in contravention of any law or regulation in any jurisdiction or location. Submissions are void where prohibited by law. Employees (including immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each) of Sponsor and its subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible to participate.
Award nominations must relate to the original work of the entrant; all entries must include the responses to the following questions and prompts:
SAS Talent Connection Educator:
To nominate an Educator, the following details are required, with those marked with an asterisk being the minimum required details:
Title, First Name*, Last Name*, Email address*, Department*, Faculty*, University*, Own SAS Certifications, SAS Certifications embedded into curriculum, SAS Academic Specialization Programs, Industry-directed Research, Internship- & Thesis collaboration with industry, SAS Educator Credential and Motivational text*.
SAS Talent Connection Employer To nominate an Employer, the following details are required, with those marked with an asterisk being the minimum required details:
Title, First Name*, Last Name*, Email address*, Department*, Organization*, Active SAS license, Supporting SAS Academic Specialization Programs, Supporting SAS Certification, Commissioning Academic Research, Thesis - Internship Collaboration and Motivational text*.
Based on the judging of the submissions, one (1) individual will be selected as the SAS Talent Connection Educator Award recipient and one (1) Organizational representative will be selected as the SAS Talent Connection Employer Award recipient. Sponsor will attempt to notify the recipients on or about December 1st, 2023. The recipients shall confirm to Sponsor their ability to accept the awards no later than December 6th. In the event a finalist declines the opportunity, Sponsor will contact alternates on or around December 7th, 2023. Any alternate offered an award will have until December 11th, 2023 to accept the Award. Non-compliance may result in disqualification and an alternate award recipient may be selected.
Decisions of the judges are final. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and the judges’ decisions.
PRIZE: Only one (1) SAS Talent Connection Educator Award will be awarded and only one (1) SAS Talent Connection Employer Award will be awarded, and each award will consist of the following:
(a) A digital badge and plaque to recognize SAS’ endorsement of their Talent connection achievements.
(b) Opportunity to present their industry – leading work at a local SAS event.
(c) Customized support from SAS Education Go-To-Market specialists for their social media development to establish and boost their online presence
Awardee responsibilities include:
(a) Attending the award ceremony at a local event.
(b) Participating in an award interview detailing their award-winning activities.
(c) Presenting their Talent Connection Thought-Leadership at a SAS Event and SAS Communities https://communities.sas.com/
Award recipients must comply with all requirements and limitations communicated by Sponsor or imposed by law or regulation, and Sponsor is not responsible for the failure of any award recipient to do so.
Sponsor is not responsible for any printing, typographical, mechanical, or other error in the printing of the Competition materials, including the webpage, administration, or execution of the Competition, or in the announcement of the award recipients. Sponsor retains the discretion to make all decisions regarding the interpretation and application of these Terms and Conditions, including any ambiguities. All decisions of Sponsor are final and discretionary. In the event the selected award recipient is ineligible or refuses the award, the award will be forfeited and Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may select an alternate award recipient from remaining entries, time permitting as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
