With 140 million births each year, more than 11 million women and their babies could be affected by preeclampsia globally. Adding to the challenge, diagnosing it early is very difficult. Research by the UCD team led to the discovery of important biomarkers with diagnostic and predictive power that can be combined with other clinical data to support decision making.
UCD researchers rely on SAS Viya and Microsoft to make sense of the data, using an AI-based cloud machine learning model to analyze the data, identify disease prevalence and predict severity.
