4:15 pm – 4:45 pm: The SAS Output Delivery System - leveraging ODS for greater flexibility and productivity (Peter Hobart, SAS Customer Success)
The SAS Output Delivery System is part of base SAS and enables the creation of SAS output in multiple document types. During this session, you'll learn about using SAS-supplied styles and creating custom styles. Insights into ODS output and ODS trace – exporting results as SAS datasets. Using ODS document and proc template to customise the table of contents.

5 pm – 5:30 pm: SAS Viya Workbench: What’s in it for users? (Dave Smith, SAS Head of Technology, Northern Europe)
SAS Viya Workbench is the new coding environment for both SAS and Python, which will bring increased productivity to developers.
- The way that Workbench is deployed and what that means for users
- Scaling the Workbench on Demand
- The execution engine, which runs both compute and CAS procedures
- Using Python syntax to execute SAS algorithms

Peter Hobart
Sr Customer Success Manager, SAS
Peter has worked at SAS for 26 years in customer support, education, architecture, and customer success. Before joining SAS, Peter was the IT manager for a significant brewery's research laboratory. Peter has written several SAS courses and questions for the SAS certification exams but spends most of his time answering customer questions and presenting at customer events. Peter is a certified SAS advanced programmer, data integration developer, and SAS platform administrator. He is currently learning the new features of SAS Viya 4.
Dave Smith
Head of Technology - Northern Europe, SAS
Dave Smith joined SAS from the Pharmaceutical Industry some 25 years ago and has since worked across multiple sectors, including pharmaceuticals, banking, government, and retail. His technical specialisms include Cloud, Data Management, Data Quality, Data Governance, and GDPR. He is now Head of Technology for Northern Europe, managing a team of architects and technical experts who help SAS customers get continued value from their use of SAS.
