Fusion Centers: Evolving Roles, Expanding Capabilities, Continuing Challenges

Fusion centers have evolved far beyond their original role in counterterrorism, and now they safeguard and serve the public on many fronts. They continue to evolve and adapt in a rapid and opportunistic manner that’s needed when operating virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic. While core challenges are changing, they still revolve around three imperatives: integrating data, deploying technology and building trust.
