Data Privacy: Are You Concerned?

Insights from a survey of US consumers


In light of recent data scandals and the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union, SAS conducted an online survey of 525 adult US consumers. The goal? To better understand their opinions on data privacy and how it affects their behaviors and trust toward companies.

Respondents came from across the United States in a number of industries and sectors. They shared views on government regulation regarding data privacy, their internet attitudes and behaviors regarding data privacy, and their level of trust in organizations to keep their data safe.
