SAS ranks 5th among “50 Companies That Care” from People magazine
People magazine has named SAS in the top 5 of its first annual “50 Companies That Care” list. People partnered with Great Place to Work to identify the top US companies caring for their communities, their employees and the world.
SAS came in number five on the list, which was based on more than 368,000 surveys from individuals employed by U.S. businesses across a range of industries. The companies were also selected based on the generosity of their benefits and charitable work, as well as personal accounts of the incredible impact these organizations have made on the lives of their employees.
“SAS has always put people first and is recognized around the world as a pioneer in workplace culture. Our employees are empowered to create and have the flexibility to manage life outside of work,” said SAS Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Jenn Mann. “When employees feel valued and cared for, they thrive and make a positive impact both at work and in their community.”
SAS is greatly committed to helping employees thrive – inside and outside of the office. In addition to the multitude of training and development opportunities that help support them at work, SAS provides a wealth of widely recognized campus benefits to help employees maintain work/life balance. These SAS headquarters offerings include a free on-site health care center with a pharmacy and free recreation and fitness center, plus a Work/Life division staffed with certified counsellors to help employees with a wide range of personal issues. SAS also provides onsite a company subsidized daycare and preschool. These, plus the countless on-site convenience services – like a hair and nail salon, dry cleaning and subsidized cafeterias – are among the many reasons why SAS appeals to job seekers at all stages of their careers.
“What we found so striking about the Companies That Care was just how personal their employees’ stories were. These organizations go out of their way again and again to look after the well-being of their people, both day to day and during personal struggles when they need it the most,” said Kim Peters, executive vice president of Great Place to Work.
Recognized consistently as a best workplace in countries around the world, SAS is a staple on Fortune magazine’s Best Places to Work in the US, and currently holds the number 2 spot among the best workplaces in the world. SAS also tops the lists of great places to work for millennials, recent graduates, women, technology workers, working parents and single fathers.
In addition to supporting its employees, SAS has always sought opportunities to improve the world – from its unwavering commitment to education to analyzing data for good to deliver world-changing results to humanitarian issues. Learn more about these initiatives in the SAS Annual Report.
