Quebec’s Ministry of Education gets smarter with business intelligence and analyticsSAS® Software to support information legacy preservation projectMontreal, QC (19 June 2008) – The Ministere de l’Educaion, du Loisir et du Sport du Quebec (MELS), today announced that it has turned to SAS the leader in business intelligence and predictive analytics, to help carry out its information legacy preservation project and meet its growing technological needs. The project will introduce new concepts and data into MELS’ new system while the phase-out of the mainframe platform takes place in December 2008. The SAS solution will allow the data to be transferred to a common operational and reporting layer, which will offer effortless operation and added analysis tools to its decision-making software suite. “The Ministère de l’Éducation is known and respected for delivering services that improve the lives of Quebecers,” said Mario Ianniciello, Eastern Regional Director, SAS Canada. “Its use of SAS will provide a better understanding of the needs of the population and improve the quality and accuracy of information required to drive critical services.”
