SAS Ranked Latin American Leader In Business Intelligence/Analytic Applications

Global experience, regional expertise propel continued growth

CARY, NC  (Sept. 25, 2006)  –  According to leading IT market research and advisory firm IDC, SAS is Latin America’s number one provider of Business Intelligence and Analytic Applications. The Latin America Semiannual Business Intelligence and Analytic Applications Tracker (2005 data) showed SAS kept the top position for the second consecutive year while increasing its market share to 15.25 percent. 

“The Latin American Business Intelligence market is strong and growing,” said Karen Bitran, Research & Consulting Manager, Software, IDC Latin America. “Armed with its predictive analytics and portfolio of proven industry-specific solutions, especially in manufacturing and financial services where the need for and use of business intelligence is highest, SAS is well positioned as this market continues expanding.” 

According to IDC, the Latin American Business Intelligence and Analytic Applications market grew by 18.38 percent in 2005 from the year before. Based on strong customer demand, SAS is outpacing this and the broader Latin American information technology markets. The Latin America and Caribbean business unit is SAS’ fastest growing, reporting greater than 40 percent year-over-year revenue growth over the past three years.
