SAS wins Healthiest Company awardAward recognizes SAS’ commitment to employee health and wellnessCARY, NC (July 01, 2008) – SAS, the leader in business intelligence and analytics, has received the REX UNC Health Care Healthiest Company award, presented by Business Leader magazine and Rex Healthcare. The contest awarded companies that have invested in corporate wellness programs both internally and in the community. “SAS has always considered employees’ health to be a top priority,” said Jim Davis, senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “Our employees know they’re working for a company that is committed to their long-term success and they, in turn, are committed to the long-term success of the company.” In judging the nominations, REX looked at employee access to screenings and health risk assessments, worksite promotion of exercise, employee reimbursement, educational sessions, and access to special programs. SAS recognizes the health benefits obtained through activities and education in the areas of fitness and wellness, offering programs through the Recreation & Fitness Center and medical services through the Health Care Center. The Recreation & Fitness Center offers outlets for stress reduction through exercise and recreation. The Health Care Center provides comprehensive primary healthcare services. These services are available to employees and their covered dependents at no cost. The award was presented at the North Raleigh Hilton June 16. Winners will be profiled in the July 2008 issue of Business Leader.
