SAS® OnDemand for K-12 gives administrators easy access to powerful data analysisSecure Web portal offers valuable insight into students and resourcesARLINGTON, VA (Mar. 10, 2008) – SAS® OnDemand for K-12, gives K-12 leaders access to powerful SAS analytical software through an easy-to-use, secure Web portal. Developed with input from K-12 district superintendents, the hosted service empowers administrators to confidently make informed decisions across their school districts. SAS pulls together information that is important to district leaders – such as attendance, enrollment and discipline data - and analyzes it in a secure environment, hosted by SAS. They can use the analysis to monitor performance benchmarks customized for their school or district and enable real-time intervention with students. "School districts need to turn school district data, often drawn from disparate systems, into useful information and provide users with increasing levels of granularity that lets them drill from the district level down to a revealing view of the individual student. Otherwise, they typically are restricted to reporting data, not using information to improve student achievement," said Bill Rust IV, Research Director, Gartner Inc. With SAS OnDemand for K-12, there is no large hardware purchase required and no installation.
