Employee & Retiree Services Privacy Statement
Before you are able to register for any SAS event, you must review and agree to the terms of this Privacy Statement.
SAS is collecting Profile Information to facilitate your registration as a SAS retiree or SAS employee dependent in campus events, but Profile Information may also be used to facilitate your registration for and participation in other programs offered through SAS and for other related purposes.
Profile Information will be made available to SAS Signup administrators and to other SAS departments and personnel who use the Profile Information for SAS retiree or SAS employee dependent program and activity registration. SAS may also disclose your profile information to third parties when (i) such third parties are acting on SAS’ behalf or in furtherance of its business and such third parties are bound by law or contract to limit their own use of the Personal Information for appropriate purposes; (ii) the disclosure is otherwise legally permitted. SAS may also disclose your profile information to third parties with your consent or in the event of an emergency.
SAS will use reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to protect Profile Information from anticipated threats or hazards and from unauthorized access or use.

Location
The pharmacy is located inside the HCC, near the rear of Building W. There is an external entrance for employees/dependents coming to campus to drop off/pick up a prescription, as well as internal pharmacy access for employees/dependents that need a prescription filled as part of their HCC visit.

Participant Eligibility for Facilities Use
Spouses, domestic partners and eligible immediate family members ages 18 – 25 can utilize the Recreation and Fitness Center (RFC). Prior to participation in the programs and the use of the Recreation and Fitness Center (RFC), a safety waiver or medical clearance is required.
Immediate family members may also schedule appointments for On-Site Services, including the salon (hair, nails and skin) and massage therapy.
To visit the RFC, family members must be registered by a current employee using the Visitor Registration System.

SAS U.S. Benefits Open Enrollment for 2025
October 28 – November 8, 2024
This year’s Open Enrollment period will begin on October 28 and extend through November 8, with elections effective January 1, 2025. If no action is taken, US employees will be automatically enrolled in the same elections as last year except for health savings and flexible spending accounts. Employees must actively confirm Health Savings Account (HSA) elections if applicable, and actively re-enroll in any flexible spending account(s) (FSAs). Be sure to review your elections carefully because this is typically the only time of year you can make changes.
Actions that can be taken during Open Enrollment:
- Add / Change / Drop medical, dental, vision, and voluntary life coverage.
- Reconfirm or update HSA contributions.
- Enroll in FSA accounts.
We also encourage all U.S. employees to review their Basic Life, Basic AD&D, and Voluntary Life insurance beneficiaries during the Open Enrollment period to make sure each plan has at least one beneficiary assigned to it.

Machine Readable Files
The machine readable file (MRF) requirement under the Transparency in Coverage rules was effective July 1, 2022. This rule requires insurers and self-funded group health plans to publicly post MRFs with detailed information on the costs of covered services and prescription drugs. The rules regarding prescription drug MRFs are delayed until a later date. The current MRFs for the SAS medical benefit programs are linked here:

Family members may visit a campus café if they are registered in the Visitor Registration System and accompanied by a current SAS employee.

SAS family members and retirees can call the Cary Operations Status Hotline at 919-531-0008 for information on the operational status of SAS’ corporate headquarters.
Retirees have limited access to the SAS on-site Health Care Center in Cary.
SAS retirees are able to receive certain free services at the HCC:
- Routine immunizations for flu, pneumonia, Tetanus, Hepatitis A & B, and shingles.
- Lab tests ordered by a community health care provider.
These services are available to SAS retirees regardless of how long ago they retired. Retirees’ dependents are not eligible for HCC services.
To schedule an appointment for immunizations and/or lab tests, Cary area retirees should call the HCC at 919-531-8809.

Schedules
Retirement Recognition Program
A full-time or part-time employee is eligible for the Retirement Recognition Program upon reaching their 60th birthday and completing 10 years of service OR completing 25 years of service.
Eligible retirees may receive the following:
- Monetary recognition.
- A retirement ID for Cary and Austin retirees for campus access. For retiree badge replacements or questions, please email BadgeRequests@sas.com.
- Access to the Cary Recreation & Fitness Center, cafés, and Work/Life Center during business hours for the retired employee only.
- Access to on-site services (massage therapy, car detailing, nail salon, etc.)
- Continued use of exclusive SAS family discounts and incentives.
- Invitation to annual SAS Spring Festival.
An employee is not eligible for retirement recognition if they are discharged from employment.
Health Care Benefits and Life Insurance
Health care benefits for the retiring employee and their covered dependents terminate on the employee's retirement date.
- COBRA. The retiring employee and their covered dependents have the option of continuing their health care coverage under COBRA. The retiree and their covered dependents will have 60 days from retirement date or active coverage end date (whichever is later) to enroll. If elected, COBRA coverage can last up to 18 months.
- Life insurance. Some or all of the retiring employee's life insurance may be continued.
Retirees will be sent COBRA paperwork and life insurance information within 14 days of their retirement date.
The Retirement Recognition Program is subject to change, revocation, cancellation or amendment at the discretion of SAS.

SAS Café
Retirees may visit campus cafés that are open. Retirees that do not have a badge can only visit a café if they are registered and accompanied by a current active SAS employee.
